A little about cheese

Cheese is so popular not only because of its pleasant taste, but also because of its rich mineral and vitamin composition. During its manufacture, this product does not pass the stage of heat treatment and therefore retains many useful substances: vitamin A, vitamins of groups B, C, E, as well as sodium, calcium and phosphorus.

Often, feta cheese is served as an independent dish - a salty snack cut into slices, garnished with herbs and fresh vegetables. However, this cheese is also used in the preparation of various vegetable dishes, sandwiches, pies and even dumplings. But most often cheese is added to a variety of salads.

If cheese is too salty for your taste, place it in cooled boiled water for several hours.

Variety of recipes

Due to its rather rich salty taste, feta cheese goes well with fresh vegetables, especially tomatoes. You can make a juicy fresh salad with a minimum of ingredients. To do this, take:

- feta cheese - 100 g;

- fresh tomatoes - about 8 pcs.;

- fresh parsley - 30 g;

- sour cream - 100 ml.

Wash the tomatoes thoroughly and cut into wedges. Cut the cheese into small squares or grate on a coarse grater. Pour everything into a large bowl, add sour cream and finely chopped green parsley. Add salt and pepper if desired. If you don't like to season salads with sour cream, replace it with olive oil.

Good news for those who follow the figure: feta cheese is considered a dietary product, it has much less fat than other cheeses that are not pickled.

If you want to make a hearty cheese salad, take:

- feta cheese - 200 g;

- prunes - 100 g;

- walnuts - 100 g;

- chicken egg - 2 pcs.;

- chicken breast - 1 pc.

First, boil the chicken until tender (try not to overcook or the breast will become tough). Then boil the eggs hard-boiled, cut them into small cubes. Cut the chicken into cubes or strips, and the feta cheese into small even squares. Wash the prunes thoroughly and pour boiling water over them. When the prunes are swollen, remove the seeds and chop finely. Grind the walnuts into crumbs. Mix all the ingredients and season the salad with mayonnaise. Add salt and pepper if desired.

If you want to surprise guests with an unusual summer salad, mix 500 grams of diced watermelon pulp, 200 grams of feta cheese and add a few peeled pumpkin seeds to the mixture.
