Place the pork leg in a large saucepan. In width, it should be such that the meat lies tight enough in it, almost touching the walls. Cover with apple juice. If the juice does not completely cover the meat, you can add warm boiled water. Add spices and put on high heat.

When the apple juice boils, reduce heat to medium and skim the broth. Cover the pot with a lid, turn the heat down to minimum and cook the meat for 25 minutes per kilogram.

When the meat is done, turn off the heat, remove the lid and let the ham cool in the broth.

During this time, you can water the pork with the released fat 1-2 times. A sauce made from caramelized onions, white wine and cream works well with this ham.
