So, washed and peeled berries should be placed in a wide enamel bowl and covered with granulated sugar at the rate of 1 can of 0.5 liters 1-2 tablespoons of sugar.
The berries can be immediately put into clean jars that have been pre-sterilized in a convenient way, or you decide to bypass this process. Put the berries in jars tightly, and sprinkle with sugar on top.
Step 3
Leave the berries covered with sugar for several hours, namely, for 4-12, so that the juice stands out. If the berries are prepared in an enamel bowl, then you should first spread the cherries tightly into the jars, and then pour over the released juice. Sugar usually dissolves completely within 12 hours of simmering.
Step 4
Now you need to sterilize the cherries in their own juice so that the berries are preserved until winter. To do this, put a cloth folded in 6 layers on the bottom of a wide saucepan, put the jars, as many as fit, put lids on the jars and pour cold water into the pan so that the jars are about two-thirds of the height in the water.

Place the pot and jars on the fire and bring to a boil. Simmer over medium heat for 10-15 minutes.

Flip the cans, lids down, on a cloth and wrap them up. Leave to cool completely and then place in your cellar, closet, or refrigerator.
