Turkey meat is an excellent dietary product. It contains a large amount of protein, vitamins and phosphorus (as in fish) and almost no fat and cholesterol. Therefore, turkey meat dishes are useful for adults and children. Meatballs in tomato sauce are tender and very tasty. Using spices will give them a savory flavor.

It is necessary

  • -450 g ready-made turkey mince;
  • -0.5 tbsp fresh sage;
  • -0.5 tbsp fresh rosemary;
  • -1 clove of garlic;
  • -1 pcs of onions;
  • -1 egg (or 2 squirrels);
  • -salt, black pepper to taste.
  • For the sauce:
  • -1-2 tbsp olive oil;
  • -400 g of canned tomatoes in their own juice;
  • -1 clove of garlic;
  • -0.5 teaspoon of fine sea salt;
  • -0.5 tsp ground red pepper;
  • -0.5 lemons (zest);
  • -1 tbsp dried oregano.

Instructions

Step 1

Chop the herbs and onion finely. Beat an egg into the minced meat, add chopped herbs, onions, peppers and salt. Mix everything well.

Step 2

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Put the minced meat on it with a teaspoon. Shape the clumps into balls. Bake in an oven preheated to 180 C. The baking time is about 12-15 minutes. While the meatballs are cooking, make the sauce.

Step 3

Heat olive oil in a saucepan. Add sea salt, ground red pepper, and minced garlic there. While stirring constantly, heat the oil for 2 minutes. Dip the tomatoes into a saucepan. The mixture should boil for a couple of minutes. Reduce heat, add lemon zest to the sauce, mix well. After that, remove the saucepan from the heat, cover, let the sauce brew.

Step 4

Transfer the finished meatballs to a saucepan, pour the sauce on top, sprinkle with dry oregano. Helpful hint: to prevent the minced meat from sticking to the spoon, brush it with vegetable oil or dip it in cold water before each meatball.
