Ingredients for meatballs:

  • 350 g of beef pulp;
  • 350 g of pork pulp;
  • 150 g onions;
  • 2 chicken eggs;
  • 100 g of rice;
  • sunflower oil;
  • salt, pepper, seasonings - to taste.

Ingredients for the sauce:

  • 200-300 g sour cream (15-20%);
  • 3 tbsp tomato paste;
  • 2 tsp mustard;
  • garlic, bay leaf - optional.

Preparation:

  1. First, we need to cook minced meat from meat and onions. Minced meat is called homemade, the components of which are pork and beef in equal parts. So, we cut the meat into small pieces, the onion into slices. We twist the meat and onions in a meat grinder until a homogeneous mass is obtained, mix.
  2. Boil rice. From 100 g of dry rice, you get 300 g of finished rice. Let the rice cool slightly.
  3. Break 2 eggs into the minced meat, salt, pepper well, you can add your favorite seasonings if you wish (but do not forget that you have already salted).
  4. Add the cooled rice to the minced meat, mixing thoroughly. The finished mass is sticky, but not crumbly.
  5. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan. From minced meat with wet hands we form small balls - future meatballs, which we lightly fry in oil on all sides. We shift all fried meatballs to a separate cooked saucepan.
  6. Now is the time for the sauce. In a deep bowl, mix sour cream, tomato paste and mustard, slightly diluting this mass with water. Do not forget to salt and pepper. If you like garlic, add a couple of cloves to the sauce, which you need to squeeze through the garlic or chop finely.
  7. Pour all the meatballs, laid out in a saucepan, with sour cream-tomato sauce, and put on low heat. Simmer for 30-40 minutes. 5-10 minutes before cooking, you can add a couple of bay leaves to the saucepan.
  8. We serve meatballs hot. Mashed potatoes or buckwheat porridge are perfect as a side dish.
