There are many side dishes. They should be combined with the main course (meat, fish). Depending on how much time the culinary specialist has, you can prepare a quick side dish or conjure over it for a longer time.
Rice
If you want to serve hot game, pork, then rice is perfect for them. Its advantage is that cereals do not require lengthy preparation - they do not need to be peeled like potatoes. Grain is also brewed quickly. A side dish of rice will help out when you need to quickly prepare breakfast, lunch or dinner.
There are certain tricks that can help keep the rice crumbly and not stick together. To do this, take a steamed or long grain cereal. Place the cereal in a bowl and rinse it, preferably in five waters. Rub the rice thoroughly between your palms each time.
The golden rule of rice makers is to add 1 part of grain to 1, 2 parts of water. For example, for 1 glass of cereal, take 1, 2 glasses of water. It must be brought to a boil and then add rice.
Stir the contents of the saucepan, cover tightly and heat to low. The cereal should boil on it for 15 minutes. Turn off the heat, but do not open the lid yet. In this form, the rice should stand for another 20 minutes, and the crumbly side dish is ready.
Pasta
You can cook not “empty” pasta, but with vegetables. Boil pasta of any shape, discard in a colander. Now prepare your vegetables. Take 500 grams of pasta:
- 1 bell pepper;
- 2 tomatoes;
- 1 medium carrot;
- 1 small onion.
Place the tomatoes in hot water for 30 seconds. When they're cool, peel them off and grind them in a blender. Free the pepper from the seed box, cut into cubes. Grate the carrots and finely chop the onion.
Fry the peppers in vegetable oil, add onions and carrots to it after 7 minutes. After 5 minutes, add the chopped tomatoes and simmer the vegetables for another 2 minutes. Put boiled pasta in them, add herbs, mix. Delicious side dish for meat, poultry is ready.
Vegetables
It has long been known that sausages, wieners go well with stewed cabbage. No wonder these dishes are so popular in German cuisine. Chop half a head of cabbage, add chopped onions and carrots, fry vegetables in sunflower oil for 5-7 minutes.
Then pour in enough water so that it covers 1 cm from the bottom. Simmer for 20-25 minutes. If the water has boiled away, add more. At the end of cooking, you can add a little tomato paste or chopped herbs. A light side dish for sausages is ready. It goes well with pork.
Serve the fish with a side dish of potatoes - mashed potatoes, boiled or fried. This vegetable can be seasoned with salt and pepper, cut several slots at the top, and put slices of cheese in them. Now wrap each potato in cling foil and bake in the preheated oven.
