Summer is the best time when you can enjoy the taste and aroma of fresh berries and, at the same time, recharge your body with natural vitamins. But, unfortunately, this season passes too quickly, and I want to get "live" vitamins in winter too. There is a way out: you can prepare berries for future use.
It is necessary
- - berries;
- - containers for storing frozen products;
- - flat pallets;
- - refrigerator with adjustable freezing temperature or freezer.
Instructions
Step 1
Prepare a container for storing frozen berries. You can use plastic bags (bags with clips are especially convenient) and plastic boxes or cups with lids. The main thing is that the container is hermetically closed. Fruits stored in bags take up less space in the freezer. And in plastic containers it is convenient to freeze berries sprinkled with sugar or in sugar syrup. Choose what is most convenient for you.
Step 2
Prepare fruits: overripe, slightly spoiled are not suitable for freezing. Go through all the berries, remove the debris, remove the stalks, rinse slightly. It is recommended to dip raspberries and blackberries for a minute in a weak saline solution to remove possible bugs and their larvae from the fruit. Put the washed berries in one layer on trays (baking sheets) to dry out.
Step 3
Arrange the prepared fruits in one layer on a pallet and place in the freezer until completely frozen. It is very good if your refrigerator has a “quick freeze” function - the less time spent on freezing berries, the more vitamins will be stored. After the berries are frozen, transfer them to a container for long-term storage. Try to leave as little free space for air as possible when laying the berries, but do not tamp the fruits too much so as not to damage them. Be sure to make sure that all packages with berries are hermetically sealed. Put in the freezer.
Step 4
You can also freeze berries, preserving vitamins, in sugar. The principle is the same as for normal freezing, only first, cover the fresh berries with sugar. Fruits frozen in sugar syrup are very tasty and no less useful. Before freezing, put the berries in a freezer container and fill them with syrup (200 g of sugar per 1 liter of water), put the container in the freezer.
