Catfish is an incredibly healthy and tasty fish, but many housewives do not like to cook it very much, since during the heat treatment this fish often turns into a mushy mass. To prevent this from happening, I advise you to get acquainted with all the tricks of cooking catfish.

It is necessary

  • - 500 grams of catfish (fillet);
  • - one egg;
  • - 30 ml of milk;
  • - four tablespoons of bread crumbs;
  • - vegetable oil;
  • - salt and pepper.

Instructions

Step 1

Take the catfish fillet, rinse it thoroughly in cold water, then dry it (it is better to use chilled catfish for frying, but if you only have frozen catfish, then it must be completely defrosted before cooking so that excess water does not escape during heat treatment).

Step 2

Cut the fillets into small pieces, lightly salt them and leave for 15-20 minutes (this will help the fish to keep its shape during the cooking process and not fall apart). After a while in a bowl, mix the egg and milk, put the fish in the mixture and leave for 30 minutes.

Step 3

Put the pan on high heat, pour oil into it (there should be quite a lot of oil in the pan, at least four to five millimeters).

Step 4

Pour flour and breadcrumbs into two different bowls. First, roll the catfish pieces in flour (it is necessary that the flour completely covers the fish), then dip the pieces in the egg-milk mixture, then roll them in bread crumbs and immediately place the fish in the pan.

Step 5

Fry the catfish over high heat until an appetizing golden crust forms (you cannot close the pan with a lid, otherwise the fish may turn into a mushy mass during heat treatment). The fried catfish is ready, you can serve it with any side dish, for example, mashed potatoes, stewed vegetables.
