You can make a delicious treat from peaches, which can be used not only as an independent dessert, but also as a filling for baking. Peaches in syrup are very easy to prepare, and they are stored all winter.
It is necessary
- - 1 kg of peaches,
- - 1 kg of sugar,
- - 0.5 teaspoons of citric acid.
Instructions
Step 1
To prepare peaches in syrup, you need to take large fruits. Make sure that there are no defects on them, the peaches must be ripe and regular in shape.
Step 2
Rinse the peaches, this must be done very carefully. For easier separation of the skin from the fruit, pour boiling water over the peaches, then transfer them to ice water. This procedure helps to peel the fruit without any problems.
Step 3
Cut the peaches in half and remove the pits. Transfer the peaches to prepared jars. It is not necessary to press down the fruits strongly. Pour boiling water over the fruits in jars, close the lids. Leave the peaches in boiling water for 5 minutes.
Step 4
Then drain the water from the fruit into a saucepan. Add a kilogram of sugar (both regular and brown sugar can be used), half a teaspoon of citric acid, bring to a boil with constant stirring. If you don't want to use citric acid, replace it with lemon juice.
Step 5
Pour the peaches in jars with the resulting hot syrup. Cap the jars immediately. Turn over, wrap in a blanket and leave to cool completely. You can store peaches in syrup both in the pantry and in the cellar.
