Funchoza is a popular type of noodle called "glass" because of its translucent color. Funchoza is a versatile product that can be used as the basis for first, second and appetizer dishes.
What is funchose
Funchoza is a product that came to us from Asian cuisine. This is a type of dry noodle with a white, translucent color. The secret of its versatility in cooking is very simple: the noodles have practically no aroma and do not stick together after boiling, which is why they can be given absolutely any taste. That is, it is a kind of base that absorbs the smells and tastes of other products. It is used in soups, hot second courses, cold salads and appetizers, and even in the preparation of dessert dishes.
Funchoza and rice noodles
In their raw form, these two products are very similar, so in Russia they are often confused with each other. In fact, they are made from completely different ingredients and have different properties when finished.
Rice noodles, as the name implies, are made from rice, or rather, from rice flour. After heat treatment, it loses its transparency, becomes white and very soft. When cooled, such noodles stick together, and with vigorous stirring, they turn into porridge.
Funchoza, on the contrary, does not lose its elasticity after processing, retains its structure under mechanical stress and becomes more transparent than in its raw form. Classic funchose is made from the starch contained in Mung beans, but sometimes it is replaced with other types of starch, which is strictly not supported by Chinese quality control. Some manufacturers who used cornstarch as the basis for funchose were even made unemployed.
Chemical composition and caloric content of the product
High-quality funchose is very useful, but only if the manufacturers do their job conscientiously and do not replace the bean starch with a regular one with bleaching agents. Buy brand-name noodles that are free of toxic dyes and bleaches. Always read the composition of a new product carefully.
Classic and natural glass bean noodles are a necessary part of the samurai diet, because they are composed of proteins, healthy fats and amino acids. It contains large amounts of calcium, as well as magnesium and iron. As a product made from legumes, these noodles actively remove waste and toxins from the body.
Losing weight and observing a diet, however, should somewhat limit the use of this product, because per 100 grams of its calorie content is 320 calories. But the satiety from funchose comes very quickly, so few people are able to eat a very large portion of this noodles.
How to cook
Funchoza is very easy to cook, because you don't even need to cook it. Pour boiling water over it and wait a few minutes until the noodles are transparent. The base for the dishes is ready. Season it with your favorite vegetables, sauces and spices for a wide variety of Chinese dishes.
