For lovers of smoked squid, you can recommend an interesting version of the salad "Herring under a fur coat". Of course, in this version, the herring is absent, therefore the name no longer fits. "Smoked squid in a fur coat" can be a great addition to the festive table.

It is necessary

  • For eight servings:
  • - 300 g smoked squid;
  • - 200 g of mayonnaise;
  • - 2 beets;
  • - 4 potatoes;
  • - 2 carrots;
  • - a bunch of green onions;
  • - 3 teaspoons of sesame seeds;
  • - salt, herbs.

Instructions

Step 1

Rinse the beets, cover them with cold water, bring to a boil, cook over low heat, covered, until tender. Usually beets are cooked in about 1 hour. Drain and cool the beets so that they cool faster, lower the beets under running cold water. Boil the potatoes with carrots until cooked in their uniforms, then peel them together with the beets.

Step 2

Rub the potatoes on a grater, carrots too, you can rub the beets, but always on a coarse grater, otherwise it will give too much unnecessary juice.

Step 3

Peel the films of smoked squid, cut into cubes or strips - as you like. Rinse the bunch of green onions, cut into smaller pieces.

Step 4

Now shape the flaky salad. The first layer is potatoes, salt it a little and apply a net of mayonnaise on top. Then add the squid pieces and green onions. Then grated carrots, salt and a layer of mayonnaise. Then the beets. The last layer is mayonnaise, distribute it evenly over the beetroot layer.

Step 5

The "Smoked squid in a fur coat" salad is almost ready, garnish it with sesame seeds, green onions or any other fresh herbs on top. Leave to soak for 2-3 hours in the refrigerator, then serve.
