Avocado gratini is a delicious and unusual appetizer. The preparation of this dish is easy and takes very little time, but the result will be amazing. You can serve this appetizer with white wine.
Ingredients:
- Avocado - 4 pcs;
- Butter - 2 teaspoons;
- Herbal salt (if not, mix the herbal seasoning with fine salt).
Ingredients for the sauce:
- Butter - 2 tablespoons;
- Hard cheese - 170 g;
- Nutmeg - ½ teaspoon;
- Heavy cream - 200 g;
- Milk - 200 g;
- Flour - 2 tablespoons;
- Freshly ground pepper.
Preparation:
- Turn on the oven so that it warms up to 250 degrees. Grease the heat-resistant mold with butter (4 individual molds can be used).
- To make the sauce, you need to melt the butter and stir in the flour. Warm up the mixture until light yellow and cool slightly. Gradually add milk and heavy cream to the mixture, stirring constantly. Cook with stirring for 5-7 minutes. Season the mixture with freshly ground black pepper, salt and nutmeg to your liking.
- Grate the cheese. Add most of the cheese to the mixture while stirring. The rest of the cheese will be needed to sprinkle the surface.
- Wash the avocado and cut it in half lengthwise. Peel the halves and remove the bones from them. Place the avocado on the cooked baking dish with the flat side down and the round side up. Sprinkle the herbal salt over the dish.
- Pour the prepared creamy sauce over the avocado and sprinkle with the remaining finely grated cheese. Bake the avocado gratini in the oven for about 12-15 minutes. Serve the dish hot.
- There are several options for how you can diversify your dish. For example, put a slice of black bread with ham under each half of an avocado, pour the sauce on top and bake.
