Instructions

Step 1

Determine the ripeness of an avocado by the color of the fruit. Gently cut the stalk and look at the surface of the pulp. Dark brown flesh indicates an overripe fruit. It will be bright green in an unripe avocado. An edible avocado will be green with brown veins.

Step 2

Once you've chosen the perfect fruit for you, start carving the avocado. Rinse the avocado well. Draw a line mentally along the fruit and carefully divide it along the intended path with a sharp knife.

Step 3

Try to plunge the middle of the knife blade into the bone. Pull on the handle of the knife, trying to pull the bone out of the pulp, while using your free hand, separate the halves of the fruit to the sides. Please note that the bone is quite tight against the flesh and it is not easy to pull it out. You can use the blade of your knife to walk around the bone to cut open the adjacent flesh a little.

Step 4

After you have removed the bone, remove the pulp from the skin with a spoon, "cutting" the distance between the pulp and skin with it. Avocado peels are very tough and should not be used for food. However, it can serve as a good "plate" for your exotic dish, as it retains its pear-shaped shape for a long time.

Step 5

If you want to make a crushed avocado salad and plan to serve it on traditional plates, you don't need to worry about the integrity of the skins. Simply cut the avocado crosswise into wedges. Then cut off the skin from each slice, trying to capture the flesh as little as possible so as not to throw away the edible parts of the exotic fruit.

Step 6

Gradually you will reach the bone. Cut it off from the pulp if you can't just remove the seed.

Step 7

Please note that the avocado flesh instantly darkens upon contact with air, so it is advisable to sprinkle it with lemon juice to maintain a pleasant appearance.
