Mango is one of the most aromatic, delicious and juicy tropical fruits native to India. Indians have been consuming mango fruits for over 4,000 years, and these exotic fruits have recently appeared in our stores. In total, there are over 35 different varieties of mango, which differ in both size and color. Regardless of the variety, all types of mango are difficult to peel and cut.
Instructions
Step 1
Before carving a mango, you need to choose a good fruit from the store. When choosing a mango, you should not be guided by color, because the color of the fruit depends on the variety. For example, a bright green mango can turn out to be incredibly juicy and ripe, while a pinkish one is the opposite. However, lovers of this fruit have their own secret - smell the fruit at the stem. If you smell a pleasant fruity aroma, then the fruit is likely to be in good condition. In addition, the skin near the tail should spring a little when pressed. However, if you are still unlucky and you have purchased a "batch" of unripe mangoes, do not be upset! Mango ripens very quickly at room temperature. Just wrap the fruit in paper and let it sit for a couple of days.
Step 2
So, you have chosen a good juicy fruit, and you are faced with the most difficult task: how to peel and cut it? The mango fruit has a fairly dense skin, so you need a sharp knife. In addition, it is almost impossible to eat whole mango due to the large and flat pit in the middle. First of all, you need to cut the mango into three pieces, and you need to cut it as close to the bone as possible. As a result, you will have two sides and one middle with a bone on your plate. Then you take the side with the flesh up in your hand and cut this flesh into a mesh with longitudinal and transverse cuts. The cuts should not be too deep, or you will puncture the skin and cut yourself. Then the side cut by the mesh is turned inside out. The pieces formed on it are easy to cut off with a knife or bite off without getting your hands dirty.
Step 3
As for the middle, the pulp is cut from it in a circle. The bone itself is not suitable for food, so it can either be thrown away or nibbled. The mango bone is surrounded by dense fibers that get stuck in the teeth very unpleasantly.
Step 4
Mango slices can be added to salads or desserts. Mango pulp is also used in some meat and fish dishes. You can also serve mango pieces on the table as a separate dish.
