This recipe for a Ukrainian dish is also called "shundra". The meat cooked in this way turns out to be both spicy and sour, and sweet, and very aromatic at the same time. Buckwheat is perfect as a side dish.

It is necessary

  • - 1150 g of pork ribs;
  • - 970 g of beets;
  • - 525 ml of beet kvass;
  • - 195 g of onions;
  • - fat for frying;
  • - salt pepper.

Instructions

Step 1

About seven days before cooking this dish, you need to put beet kvass. To do this, peel the beets, rinse and cut into small pieces. Then transfer them to a jar and pour over cooled boiled water.

Step 2

In order for the fermentation to take place faster, you should also add a small piece of black bread. Place the jar in a warm place and remove the resulting foam from time to time.

Step 3

The result is a remarkably tasty, slightly carbonated drink.

Step 4

Rinse the pork, cut into small pieces. In a frying pan, melt the bacon for frying and transfer the meat into it. Wash onions, peel and cut into thin rings.

Step 5

Peel, wash and cut the beets into thin strips. Add prepared onions and beets to a skillet with meat, reduce heat, cover and simmer for about 25 minutes.

Step 6

Then pour the prepared beet kvass into the pan, add salt, pepper and seasonings and continue simmering for about 30 minutes more.
