The microwave oven has long been an indispensable household aid. It is very convenient to bake, heat, even cook food in it. But is it possible to fry in it? A favorite side dish, fried potatoes, can be cooked in the microwave using the grill setting.

- For potatoes in the microwave
- 5 potatoes;
- 2 tbsp. l. vegetable oil;

- For potatoes with carrots:
- 1 kg of potatoes;
- 1 head of onion;
- 1 small carrot;
- 1 tbsp. a spoonful of vegetable oil;
- condiments
- spice
- salt.
- For potatoes in grill mode:
- 4 potatoes;
- 1 clove of garlic;
- salt
- pepper;
- olive oil;
- Italian herbs.
- For potato shashlik with bacon:
- 1 kg of potatoes;
- 300 g lard;
- rosemary or dry herbs;
- foil
- skewers.
Instructions
Step 1
Microwave Potatoes Peel the potatoes, cut into thin circles, mix the vegetable oil with your favorite spices (seasoning for potatoes, black and red ground pepper, dry broth or bouillon cube, seasoning "Crumbly Onion", "Pepper Mix", salt). Thoroughly stir the potatoes with the oil and spice mixture, place in a glass microwave-safe bowl, tighten with cling film and microwave on high power for 15 minutes.
Step 2
Potatoes with carrots Peel the potatoes, cut into medium-sized cubes (not very finely), onions into half rings, carrots into strips. Mix vegetables, add a spoonful of oil, salt and spices that you usually add to fried potatoes. Stir, transfer to a baking sleeve and microwave for 20-30 minutes.
Step 3
Grilled potatoes Put the microwave on the grill setting and heat to 180 degrees. Then boil the potatoes in their "uniform", peel them off, cut them in half lengthwise, and put them on the wire rack.
Step 4
Season the potatoes with salt, pepper, drizzle with olive oil and grill. Turn it over from time to time, sprinkling with olive oil. Cook the potatoes until golden brown. When the grilled potatoes are done, sprinkle with Italian herbs and rub with crushed garlic.
Step 5
Potato shashlik with bacon Wash the potatoes thoroughly and cut into slices 4-5 mm thick. Cut the pork fat into thin strips. If the lard is salty enough, you do not need to add salt.
Step 6
Skewer the potato and bacon slices and sprinkle with rosemary or dried herbs to taste. Wrap in foil, secure the ends to prevent grease from leaking out. Cook in the microwave on the grill setting for about 20 minutes. The fat should melt and the potatoes become soft. Remove foil and cook until golden brown.
