Oven-baked chicken and potato pie is a safe bet for a hearty dinner. The beauty of such a cake lies not only in its delicate taste, but also in the fact that it is equally good both hot and cold.

Ingredients for the dough:

  • 500 ml of milk (fat content - 3.2%);
  • 5 g of powdered yeast;
  • 75 g granulated sugar;
  • 1 pinch of salt;
  • 3 chicken eggs;
  • 1 kg of flour;
  • 100 ml of sunflower oil.

Ingredients for the filling:

  • 300 g chicken breast;
  • 2 onions;
  • 3 potato tubers;
  • 50 g butter;
  • spices to taste.

Preparation:

  1. Dough preparation. Heat the milk a little and combine with dry yeast and sugar, salt. Break 3 eggs into a separate container and mix with a whisk or mixer.
  2. Pour the egg mixture into warm milk, stir well until smooth. Gradually pour all the flour into the liquid milk-egg mass (when the dough is still liquid, pour the sunflower oil) and knead the thick dough.
  3. Form the dough into a ball, place in a large deep saucepan, cover with a towel and leave in a warm place for two hours. During this time, it will rise strongly, it needs to be kneaded several times so that it does not crawl out beyond the edges of the container.
  4. Cooking the filling. Cut the chicken into portions. Wash, peel and cut the potatoes into medium cubes (as an option, you can also strips). Finely chop the onion head.
  5. Assembling the cake. Divide the coming dough into two halves: one of them should be larger. Mash and roll most of it, carefully put it on a baking sheet, which must first be greased with any oil or put parchment for baking on it.
  6. Put a layer of chopped potatoes on the dough, add a little salt (if you wish, you can also pepper). Top with chicken breast strips, sprinkle with any spices of your choice and salt.
  7. Spread the chopped onion evenly over the meat. And the final touch is to scatter pieces of butter over the filling. Roll out a smaller portion of the dough onto a layer and close the pie by pinching the edges of both dough halves.
  8. Cover the cake with a clean towel and let sit for about half an hour. Then grease the surface with an egg and send it to the oven (temperature - 200 degrees, time - 1 hour).
