Many, buying rolls in stores, put them in the refrigerator and use them only after a few hours or the next day. Quite often, the result of such improper storage of rolls is negative reviews and complaints about the products of Japanese food stores and restaurants. However, you can avoid such unpleasant consequences if you follow a number of simple rules when storing rolls.

Storing rolls - a few rules

  1. Do not store rolls in the plastic container or packaging in which they were sold. These containers serve only as a means for carrying them and do not preserve the freshness of the food in any way. If the rolls lie in such a dish for more than a day, they will wind up and the rice will become dry and unpleasant to the taste.
  2. You can store rolls in the refrigerator for more than 3 hours if they do not include fish and other seafood. However, if the rice used to make the rolls has been heavily seasoned with soy sauce or rice vinegar, then after this time it will most likely turn sour.
  3. Before putting the rolls in the refrigerator, place them on a flat dish and wrap tightly with cling film. Sushi and rolls in cling film last longer than in a regular plastic container.

These recommendations will help to extend the shelf life of the rolls and preserve their original taste.
