Sprats are not only a quick snack, but also a wonderful ingredient for a delicious and original dish with an expressive smoked flavor. Make a hearty fish salad with vegetables, croutons, or rice.
Puff sprat salad
Ingredients:
- 1 small can of sprat in oil (120 g);
- 2 medium potatoes;
- 1 cucumber;
- 1 carrot;
- 2 chicken eggs;
- 20 g green onions;
- 4 tablespoons mayonnaise.
Boil root vegetables, peel and grate. Drain the oil from the sprat and mash it with a fork. Chop the green onion into rings. Boil the eggs hard-boiled, separate the whites from the yolks and mash them separately with a fork. Cut the skin off the cucumber and cut it into thin, almost translucent strips.
For even layering lettuce, use a special wide ring. You can purchase it or make it yourself by cutting it out of a plastic bottle with a volume of 2-2.5 liters.
Assemble the flaky fish salad in the following order: potatoes, carrots, mayonnaise, green onions, sprats, chicken yolks. Then repeat the mayonnaise layer, lay the cucumber and finally the protein. Remember to lightly tamp each layer, achieving an even thickness, so that the dish looks aesthetically pleasing. Decorate it as you wish: with herbs, vegetable roses or olive halves.
Sprat salad with croutons
Ingredients:
- 1 large jar of sprat (200 g);
- 0.5 cans of sweet corn (200 g);
- 0.5 cans of white beans in their juice (200-220 g);
- 100 g of hard unsweetened cheese;
- 300 g of Borodino bread;
- 2 cloves of garlic;
- mayonnaise.
It is undesirable to use ready-made croutons in sprat salad, they have a lot of salt and flavorings.
Cut the bread into cubes, place them on a baking sheet and dry in the oven at 170oC. Mashed sprat with butter, combine with corn and white beans without liquid. Peel the garlic and crush it in a special press. Grate the cheese on a fine grater. Mix all the ingredients of the salad in one bowl and season with a couple of tablespoons of mayonnaise. Sprinkle the croutons on the dish and stir, but only just before serving, otherwise they will get wet.
Sprat salad with rice
Ingredients:
- 1 small can of sprat;
- 100 g of rice;
- 100 g of green lettuce;
- 1 small jar of canned green peas;
- a pinch of ground black pepper.
Wash the rice in several waters and cook in salted water until tender. Wash the lettuce leaves, blot them gently with a paper towel and spread them out on a wide, flat plate. Layer rice, green peas and whole fish on top of them. Pour 2 tablespoons over the salad. sprat oil, pepper and serve cold.
