  • -50 g of vodka (preferably aniseed)
  • -1 onion
  • -1 chicken egg
  • -150 ml olive oil
  • -2 cloves of garlic
  • -2-3 tablespoons flour
  • -1 tablespoon finely chopped mint (can be dried)
  • -1 teaspoon oregano
  • -¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • -¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • -salt to taste
  • For the sauce:
  • -2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • -1 onion
  • -1 carrots
  • -1 tablespoon flour
  • -20 g butter
  • -400 g tomatoes in their own juice
  • - laurel leaf, salt, pepper to taste

Instructions

Step 1

Soak pieces of white bread in vodka.

Step 2

Peel and wash the onion. Chop finely and sauté in olive oil until golden brown.

Step 3

Squeeze the bread pulp from the vodka, add to the pre-ground minced meat. Place chopped mint, nutmeg, cayenne pepper, oregano, finely chopped garlic, salt and a raw egg into the minced meat.

Step 4

Mix the resulting mass well and beat off. Form small meatballs from the minced meat. Fry the meatballs in flour and fry in olive oil for 5-6 minutes on each side.

Step 5

For the sauce, peel and wash the onions and carrots. Chop the onion finely, grate the carrots on a coarse grater.

Step 6

Put prepared vegetables in hot olive oil. Saute the vegetables for 5-7 minutes.

Step 7

Heat a dry and clean frying pan, add flour to it. Fry it until creamy over low heat, stirring continuously, add butter at the end. Mix the mass quickly, put tomato paste, bay leaf in it, bring to a boil. Simmer the sauce over low heat for 2-3 minutes.

Step 8

Beat the tomatoes in their own juice without the peel with a blender to a puree consistency. Add them to the sauce pan, salt and pepper. Top up with water or broth as needed. Reduce heat, cover skillet with lid and simmer for 10-15 minutes.

Step 9

Place the meatballs in a baking dish and pour over the sauce. Bake in the oven at 170-180 degrees for 20-30 minutes.

Step 10

Garnish ready-made meatballs with boiled potatoes and herbs.
