Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare the marzipan filling. Take almonds and grind them into flour. Do this with a food processor or conventional coffee grinder.
Step 2
Then combine the almond flour with sugar and half an egg white. Mix everything well so that the sugar is completely dissolved and a plastic homogeneous mass is obtained.
Step 3
Cover the dishes with ready-made marzipan with a lid or cling film so that it does not dry out, refrigerate for three to four hours. Prepare the dough at this time.
Step 4
Pour the raisins with rum and leave to infuse for two hours.
Step 5
Heat the milk over low heat, but do not bring it to a boil. Put sugar, salt, ghee in it and mix well. When the mixture has cooled slightly, immediately add two eggs and two more yolks to it.
Step 6
Then, stirring gently, add three glasses of flour and dry yeast. Then add vanilla, cinnamon, raisins swollen in rum, chopped nuts, candied orange and lemon cubes. Mix everything thoroughly and add the remaining flour.
Step 7
Cover the dough with a towel and leave it in a warm place for an hour to fit and double in size.
Step 8
After the time has passed, put it on the table, divide it into two parts. Roll out each part in the shape of a rectangle.
Step 9
Take the marzipan out of the refrigerator and divide it in half as well. Next, make a sausage from each part, place it in the center along each rectangle of dough.
Step 10
Fold the rectangle in half so that the marzipan is on the inside and the top layer of dough is slightly shorter than the bottom, and press down lightly around the edges. Place it on a greased baking sheet and set aside for twenty minutes.
Step 11
After that, immediately send it to an oven preheated to 180 degrees for thirty to forty minutes. Remove the finished cake from the oven, cool, brush with melted butter and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
