Mackerel, baked in the oven, is a rather versatile dish; it is suitable both for a standard family dinner and for a festive table. You can bake mackerel in different ways: in pieces, whole or in the form of rolls, on a baking sheet or in foil.

If the fish is cooked entirely, then the head may not be cut off, but the gills must be removed.

For cooking you will need:

- fresh frozen mackerel - 3 pcs;

- mayonnaise 3 tsp;

- mustard 3 tsp;

- salt and fish spices to taste.

Before cooking, it is advisable not to defrost the mackerel completely, so it will be easier to cut it and remove all unnecessary parts, for example, gills or fins, and the pieces will be smoother and more accurate.

We wash the fish with running water, gut and remove all unnecessary parts, after which we blot the mackerel with a paper napkin or towel to remove excess moisture. Then we cut the carcass into pieces, about 3 cm thick.

For the sauce, mix the mustard and mayonnaise, add a little salt and seasoning for the fish. By the way, the ingredients are quite replaceable, someone likes to add ketchup or horseradish, it all depends on taste preferences.

Grease the baking dish with oil or cover it with foil, so it will be easier to wash it, after which we dip each piece in the sauce and carefully put it in the mold.

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees, put a baking sheet with fish in it or bake for about half an hour.

We transfer the finished fish to a flat dish, if desired, the baked mackerel can be decorated with fresh vegetables or lemon wedges. This dish goes well with mashed potatoes, rice, or served as an independent snack.
