It is necessary

  • - cabbage - 1.5 kg (medium-sized forks);
  • - "Domashny" minced meat (pork and beef) - 500 g;
  • - round grain rice - 100 g;
  • - onions - 3 pcs.;
  • - carrots - 1 pc.;
  • - tomato paste - 5 tbsp. l. or thick tomato juice - 300 ml;
  • - sour cream - 1 package (about 300 ml);
  • - garlic - 3 cloves
  • - ground black pepper;
  • - salt;
  • - fresh dill - 1 bunch;
  • - sunflower oil for frying;
  • - a saucepan or deep frying pan.

Instructions

Step 1

Remove the first 2-3 layers of leaves from a cabbage fork and rinse under running water. Then dip the cabbage into a saucepan, fill it with cold water and place it on the stove. When the water boils, reduce the temperature to medium and cook for 10 minutes. After that, drain the water and cool the cabbage.

Step 2

Meanwhile, peel the onions and carrots and chop them into small pieces. You can also grate carrots. Rinse the rice several times so that the water becomes completely transparent. Transfer the minced meat to a bowl and add to it all the prepared ingredients - rice, onions and carrots, as well as black pepper and salt to taste. Mix everything together well.

Step 3

By this time, the cabbage should have cooled down. Divide it into leaves, fill with meat filling and wrap. If the veins on the leaves are too thick, you can slightly beat them off with a meat hammer. Taking into account the fact that the rice will increase in size during the cooking process, it is not necessary to wrap the filling very tightly.

Step 4

Now let's prepare the tomato sauce. Peel the garlic cloves and crush them through a press. In a separate bowl, combine sour cream, tomato paste, 200 ml water and garlic. If you are using tomato juice, then you do not need to add water. Salt the resulting mass a little, add a few pinches of ground black pepper and mix until smooth.

Step 5

As the next step, you can choose one of the methods: put the cabbage rolls in a saucepan and pour the resulting sauce over them. If necessary, you will need to add a little more water so that the sauce completely covers the contents of the pot. Or you can pour a little sunflower oil into the pan and fry the blanks on both sides until golden brown, and only then put them in a saucepan and pour over the sauce and water.

Step 6

In both cases, bring the cabbage roll sauce to a boil, then reduce the temperature to a low setting, cover and simmer for 40 minutes.

Step 7

Put the prepared cabbage rolls in portions together with tomato sauce, sprinkle them with fresh chopped dill and serve with sour cream.
