This jam is perfect for those with a sweet tooth. If someone has their own garden, this is a whole blessing. Cherries, grapes, apples, gooseberries, sea buckthorns, currants, and plums grow here. From all this splendor, you can make a variety of sweet preparations - from compotes to jelly. And you can make jam from plums. With tea or pancakes in winter - just super!
It is necessary
- - 1 kg of plums,
- - 1 kg of granulated sugar,
- - 1 glass of red currant or apple juice.
Instructions
Step 1
Jam is usually made from ripe or even overripe plums, because the pit has to separate easily from the pulp. We take 1 kg of plums, wash them and peel them. Then fill the plums with red currant juice (you can take another juice, but it is in apple and red currant juices that there are more substances that contribute to gelling) and cook for 8 minutes.
Step 2
After that, add granulated sugar and cook, stirring constantly, until tender. We check the readiness by a drop of jam - if it does not spread over the plate, you can remove it from the heat.
Step 3
Spread the jam hot on pre-sterilized dry jars - we take small half-liter jars, it's easier and more convenient to use the delicacy later. Cool the jam and seal.
