It is necessary

    • 1 small head of cabbage for 1, 5-2 kg;
    • 3 medium carrots;
    • 2 large onions;
    • 500 g fresh champignons;
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • ½ teaspoon coriander;
    • 2 bay leaves;
    • ½ teaspoon of ground black pepper;
    • 50 g of vegetable oil.

Step 1

Cut off the top leaves from the cabbage fork, cut the head in half or in quarters, cut the stalk and chop the cabbage into strips. Wash and peel the carrots, grate or cut into small cubes. Peel the onion and cut into half rings.

Step 2

Heat some vegetable oil in a heavy-bottomed skillet and place some of the cabbage on it. Place so much that it is convenient to mix. Saute the cabbage, stirring regularly, until soft and translucent. Place in a heavy-walled saucepan or cast iron pot. In this way, fry all the cabbage. Make sure not to have too much oil in it.

Step 3

Fry the carrots in a skillet until tender. You can add a little water and simmer slightly. Then fry the chopped onion until golden brown. Place the carrots and onions in a pot of cabbage.

Step 4

Try not to use too much oil at each stage of frying vegetables, so that the finished dish does not turn out to be too greasy. If the vegetables start to burn, add some water to the skillet.

Step 5

Peel and wash the mushrooms. Cut them into small pieces. Place in hot oil in a skillet and fry for 5-10 minutes with constant stirring.

Step 6

Place the mushrooms in a saucepan with cabbage, carrots and onions. Add salt, ground pepper, bay leaf and coriander. Mix everything thoroughly, cover and put on low heat. Simmer the cabbage for 10-15 minutes. Remember to stir. After removing from heat, let the cabbage with mushrooms simmer for another ten minutes. After that, you can serve it on the table.

Serve cabbage with mushrooms as a complete cooked meal or as a side dish for meat. This dish goes well with boiled potatoes or buckwheat porridge. But it is better to prepare another side dish for the fish.
