To get a truly Greek salad, adhere to some rules for its preparation. The composition of a classic salad must necessarily include the Greek cheese "Feta" - a soft cheese made from sheep's milk. It appeared in ancient times, it is considered a national Greek product. This cheese is included in the recipes of many Mediterranean dishes. The peculiarity of Feta cheese is its pleasant curd smell; it is made from sheep's or goat's milk. This cheese cannot be spread on bread or cut into thin slices. Feta is best combined with fresh vegetables and herbs.

Use only salted dark blue pitted olives for the salad. In no case should you take pitted black, their taste is completely different. Olives, like olives, are the fruits of the olive tree. Their color will depend on the degree of ripeness of the fruit, as well as on the type of plant. Cut vegetables only into large cubes.

Olives contain a large amount of fat - up to 56% and 6% proteins, the product perfectly satisfies hunger.

Olive oil for dressing must be of the first cold pressing: there is a mark “extra vergin” on the packaging. You need to fill the salad as follows: pour it in a thin stream over all the ingredients. For piquancy, you need to add Greek salad spices to the salad - a mixture of herbs that can be found together with Greek products: olives, olives, oil. If you can't buy this seasoning, replace it with a mixture of Italian herbs.

To prepare a classic Greek salad, you will need the following products: 8 pcs. cherry tomatoes, 1 fresh cucumber, 1 bell pepper, 100 g feta cheese, 8 pcs. olives, 30 ml olive oil, sea salt, ground pepper, a mixture of herbs for Greek salad - to taste. Wash vegetables under cold water, wipe dry. Cut the cucumber lengthwise into 4 pieces and then cut into large cubes. Peel the pepper, cut it into large cubes. Combine cucumbers and peppers in a bowl, salt and stir. Cut the tomatoes into 4 pieces and place them over the rest of the vegetables. Cut the feta cheese into cubes and place on the salad. Drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle with a mixture of herbs and ground pepper. At the end of cooking, place the olives in a salad bowl. Season with salt, stir gently again and serve.

Feta cheese is rather salty, so add salt to the salad very carefully.

The second option for preparing a classic Greek salad is that the ingredients are not mixed, but laid out in a salad bowl in layers. Prepare food, cut them into cubes. Put the cucumbers, peppers on them, then the tomatoes. Top with cheese cubes and olives on top. Drizzle with olive oil and serve.
