Great Lent begins very soon, preceding the holiday of Easter. Orthodox Christians are already preparing for the beginning of Lent, collecting recipes for lean dishes. One of these recipes can be white cabbage chops, which, with their juiciness, rich taste, delicate aroma and high protein content, are not inferior to meat counterparts.
It is necessary
- finely chopped cabbage - 1, 5 - 2 cups
- onion - 1 pc.
- flour - 1/2 cup
- water - 10 tablespoons
- chaman - 1/2 tsp
- ground black pepper - 1/2 tsp
- salt to taste
- vegetable oil
Instructions
Step 1
To prepare lean white cabbage chops, take a large onion and cut it into not too small cubes. The cut should be rather coarse.
Also take the cabbage cut into thin strips. The volume of white cabbage will be 350 - 450 ml.
Step 2
Mix the vegetables in a saucepan or bowl, add salt and spices and rub well with your hands to make the juice stand out. Add wheat flour, stir thoroughly and add water. Mix thoroughly again.
Step 3
Now you need to preheat the pan and pour in the oil. When the oil warms up, spread a portion of the cabbage dough with a tablespoon, distribute it evenly so that you get pancakes about the size of a slice of a loaf. Vegetables should be placed in one layer, not too thin, but not too thick.
On this side, fry over high heat so that the cabbage and onions are held together by the batter.
Step 4
Turn the chops over and fry over low heat until the vegetables are browned and tender.
Serve as an addition to rice, potatoes, pasta or fresh vegetable salads - in a word, to those side dishes with which meatballs are usually served.
