Delicious Dutch waffles are made from two very thin layers of dough, and the filling is a sticky syrup. In the Netherlands, this yummy is called Stroopwafels. They go especially well with tea and coffee.
It is necessary
- For four people:
- - vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon;
- - corn syrup - 1 glass;
- - chicken egg - 2 pcs;
- - wheat flour - 3 glasses;
- - ground cinnamon - 2 tablespoons;
- - salt - 1 pinch;
- - ghee butter - 1, 5 cups;
- - light brown sugar - 1 cup;
- - active dry yeast - 1 tsp.
Instructions
Step 1
Mix three tablespoons of warm water, yeast, and a teaspoon of sugar until completely dissolved. Whisk the butter until bubbles, adding a teaspoon of cinnamon and salt.
Step 2
Next, add the yeast mixture, eggs, flour and knead a good dough. Feel free to add more flour as needed. Leave in some warm place to rise for an hour.
Step 3
Combine the sugar, cinnamon and molasses in a small saucepan. Simmer until thickened for 10 minutes. Then remove from heat and add butter. Refrigerate the mass for 15 minutes.
Step 4
Lubricate the waffle iron with vegetable oil, put dough balls in the center of the molds, the diameter of which is no more than 5 centimeters. Close the waffle iron and bake thin waffles. Spend about a minute on each if the waffle iron does not turn off automatically.
Step 5
Using a sharp knife, cut each wafer into two thin plates. Apply the syrup evenly to one of the slices and close tightly on top with the other.
Step 6
The ends can be flattened with a round cookie cutter or a cup with a knife. Let the Dutch waffles cool slightly and serve.
