Leeks are rich in phosphorus, iron, potassium, magnesium and calcium. An essential oil is obtained from it, which promotes the secretion of gastric juice, which in turn improves digestion and general well-being of a person. And, importantly, dishes that contain leeks will provide not only a delicious lunch or dinner, but also a dietary one.

To prepare leeks with oil, you need a small amount of food, namely: 600-700 grams of leeks, butter, a little pepper and salt. Rinse the onion and cut off the unwanted part of the product, which is represented by green leaves and roots. Then carefully cut the stem into rings of the desired diameter. Remember that the smaller the rings, the faster the food will cook.

Overcooked and out of shape onion loses its useful properties, so it is important to remove it from the stove in time. And in order to give the leeks an interesting aroma, you can add any spices to taste.

Then place the onion chopped into rings in a saucepan, add water, salt and pepper there and put on low heat. Simmer the mixture under the lid and make sure that the onions are not overcooked, as this can spoil the taste of the vegetable.

When the onion is cooked, remove it from the pan and pour over the pre-melted butter. After that, the dish can be considered ready to eat.

Any side dish can be prepared for onions: porridge, potatoes, boiled mushrooms. The dish will turn out to be dietary and, at the same time, very tasty.

With all this, leeks can be used both as the main ingredient and as a filling for stuffing meat or vegetable dishes. In addition, it is also a practical dish, because the green part of the onion is successfully placed in salads, used as a filling, added to minced meat, fried, put in soups and marinades, and also stewed with mushrooms, other vegetables and meat.

Do you like the flavor of tomatoes? Try the leeks sautéed in vegetable oil with salt and a little tomato paste. The dish can be used on its own or as a gravy to various side dishes.
