Ingredients for tangerine chicken

To prepare such a dish, you will need the following ingredients:

- fresh chicken - 1 pc.;

- carrots - 3 pcs.;

- tangerines - 500 g;

- lemon juice - 40 ml;

- onion - 1 pc.;

- wheat flour - 10 g;

- butter - 100 g;

- sugar - 10 g;

- saffron - ¼ tsp;

- water - 250 ml;

- olive oil - 2 tbsp. l.;

- pepper and salt to taste.

The process of making chicken with tangerines

Rinse the chicken under running water, remove the remaining feathers from it and cut into portions. Then take the onion, peel and cut into cubes, and wash and grate the carrots. Pour olive oil into a skillet and heat. Throw in the onion there and fry until golden brown. Then place it in a saucepan and top with the chopped chicken.

Place a saucepan with 50 g of butter on the stove. Throw carrots into it and fry for 5-7 minutes. Then put it on top of the chicken, add 100 ml of water there, and then put the pan on the stove. Simmer these ingredients over medium heat for 30 minutes.

Rinse the tangerines under running water, remove the zest from them, which should contain as little white part as possible. Transfer the peel to a saucepan, cover with water and cook for 10-15 minutes. Then drain the liquid from the zest, fill with a new one and again keep on fire for the same time. This process needs to be repeated one more time, and then put the zest in a bowl.

Remove the film from the peeled tangerines, and transfer the resulting pulp to a plate. Then put a frying pan on the fire, add 50 g of butter and flour there. Fry everything until golden brown and remove from heat. Add the resulting mass to the stewed chicken and mix everything thoroughly. Then pour the lemon juice there, put the spices, sugar and salt, as well as the pulp and zest of tangerines.

Place the lid on the pot and simmer over low heat for another 15 minutes. Then turn off the stove and leave the dish for 10 minutes with the lid closed. Then put it on plates and serve hot to the table.
