Crispy French croutons with Provencal herbs are the zest of a salad that the whole family will enjoy. Crutones, small toasted cubes of white bread, are a favorite ingredient in vegetable salads in France.
It is necessary
- - loaf (1/2 loaf);
- - garlic (2 cloves);
- - olive oil (3 tablespoons);
- - Provencal herbs (1/2 tsp);
- - pickled mushrooms (150 g);
- - sweet pepper (1 pc.);
- - cucumber (1 pc.);
- - hard cheese (100 g).
Instructions
Step 1
We cut off the crusts of the loaf. Cut the pulp into cubes with a side of 1, 5 cm.
Step 2
Mix olive oil with garlic. Add Provencal herbs and salt to taste.
Step 3
Dip the bread cubes into the prepared mixture and put on a baking sheet. Bake the croutons for 15-20 minutes in the oven until crispy (stir with a wooden spatula).
Step 4
Cut sweet peppers and fresh cucumber into strips, and hard cheese into cubes with a side of 0.5-0.7 cm. Add small pickled mushrooms (or pickled mushrooms cut into thin slices) to the cheese with vegetables.
Step 5
Pour croutons into the salad and mix everything carefully. Season with olive oil (or the sauce left over from the croutons). You can add salt to taste.
