It is necessary

  • - 170 grams of rice;
  • - 500 grams of minced meat;
  • - 3 tablespoons of sour cream;
  • - 1 egg;
  • - a small bunch of parsley;
  • - 2 - 3 sprigs of dill;
  • - 1 red onion;
  • - salt.

Instructions

Step 1

Peel the red onion and chop it finely. Pour the rice into a colander or sieve and rinse thoroughly under running water. Prepare a large bowl, place the defrosted minced meat in it, add the washed rice and chopped onion.

Step 2

Beat one chicken egg into a bowl of minced meat, add salt and mix thoroughly. It is most convenient to stir the minced meat with your hands, while you will feel how well all the ingredients are mixed.

Step 3

Roll the minced meat into small balls. For toddlers, shape meatballs the size of a tennis ball; for older children, you can make the balls larger.

Step 4

Take a large saucepan, pour water into it, add salt. Put the saucepan on fire. After the water boils, start gently dipping one meat ball into it.

Step 5

Stir the water periodically with a slotted spoon. Cook the meatballs for about ten minutes, until all the meatballs float to the top.

Step 6

While the meatballs are boiling, prepare the greens. Wash the parsley and dill, separate the leaves from the stems. Finely chop the leaves, no need to cut the stems.

Step 7

After the meatballs are cooked, drain a certain amount of water from the pan so that the remaining broth reaches half of the meatballs. Put the dill and parsley stalks in the broth, simmer for ten minutes over medium heat.

Step 8

Add three tablespoons of sour cream to the meatballs to make the meatballs with gravy. Simmer the dish for another five minutes over medium heat.

Step 9

Meatballs for children with sour cream are ready, serve them with the gravy, sprinkle with chopped herbs before serving.
