It can be difficult to teach a child to new products. However, the tender meat of turkey should be to the taste of children, especially if this type of poultry is served with an original side dish and a delicious sauce.
Turkey steak with sour cream sauce
You will need:
- 4 turkey fillet steaks;
- pasta in the form of letters of the alphabet;
- 200 g of canned green peas;
- 100 g medium fat sour cream;
- 50 g of French mustard grains;
- 20 g butter;
- salt and freshly ground black pepper.
If your child doesn't like mustard, take it out of the recipe and add other spices to the sauce.
Lightly beat the turkey steaks, season with salt and pepper. Melt the butter in a preheated skillet and sauté the turkey on both sides to brown the meat. Reduce heat, mix mustard and sour cream in a separate container, season with salt and pepper. Add the sauce to the skillet and cook together, stirring occasionally, for a few minutes.
Boil the alphabetic pasta separately. Heat the green peas in a skillet. Serve the meat on a bed of pasta and peas, sprinkling the whole dish with sour mustard sauce. According to the same recipe, you can cook turkey drumsticks with sauce.
Breaded turkey meat
Children often love less-than-healthy foods, such as deep-fried chicken. It is much better to cook a breaded turkey according to a similar recipe, but add vegetables to it to make baby food more healthy and varied.
You will need:
- 4 slices of turkey fillet;
- 2 eggs;
- 2 tbsp. flour;
- 70 g of white bread;
- 1 orange;
- 2 lemons;
- 4 carrots;
- 4 potatoes;
- 1 tbsp. chopped parsley;
- 80 g of butter;
- 1 tbsp. vegetable oil;
- 250 g sour cream;
- 150 ml of milk;
- salt and freshly ground black pepper.
You don't have to make bread crumbs yourself - you can buy them ready-made at the store.
Peel and boil carrots and potatoes in salted water until soft. Remove vegetables from water, pat dry and place in deep bowl for puree. Put some of the butter on them and crush, gradually adding milk. Season the finished puree with a little salt and pepper.
Then prepare the breadcrumbs. Cut the bread into slices and dry in a toaster or oven. It shouldn't burn, but it should dry completely. Crush the bread into crumbs. Break the eggs into a bowl and beat as for an omelet, season with salt and pepper. Melt the remaining butter in a skillet.
Dip the fillet pieces first in a beaten egg and then roll in breadcrumbs. Cook the meat for 4 minutes on each side. Remove the fillet and place on the puree.
After that, you can make the sauce. Put sour cream and flour in a clean pan, simmer over low heat for 5 minutes. Meanwhile, squeeze the juice from the lemons and oranges and add to the sour cream. Simmer all together until the sauce is reduced in volume by a third. Season with salt and pepper.
Serve the turkey with mashed potatoes and carrot and sauce in a separate bowl so everyone can pour as much sauce as they like.
