On the shelves of stores, you can easily buy a "horned root", but you really want to grow it on your own garden plot.

First, it is necessary to choose a site suitable for this purpose, given that the plant does not tolerate drafts, excess moisture, direct sunlight. This should be a protected area, out of direct sunlight. In addition, the full maturation period lasts about 10 months, so it is wise to plan ahead for planting the root in a winter garden or a heated greenhouse.

Then we prepare the soil. It should be fertile, slightly acidified. If the soil does not meet the requirements, mix the earth and dry humus in equal parts and add a fourth of the sand to this mixture. You can also dig up the entire area with the addition of sand and organic fertilizers.

Root preparation and planting begins in the spring, for this you need to choose a healthy root with eyes. From these eyes, sprouts begin to appear over time. Vegetative division of the root must be carried out in such a way that a pair of eyes remain on each segment. The sections must be treated with charcoal.

The required temperature for normal vegetation is about 25 degrees. Based on this, you should choose the date of planting it in the ground. It is advisable to plant the rhizomes in a heated greenhouse at the first stage. When the temperature drops to 18 degrees, the plant goes into a state of sleep, from which it is rather difficult to release it. It is necessary to strictly monitor the temperature, occasionally sprinkling the soil with water.

At the end of August, the plant must be dug up if it grows in the open field. If there is a greenhouse, then it is left to ripen until February. You can also transplant it into boxes, pots, in which it will mature at home. After dropping the leaves, the plant should be provided with appropriate conditions, the temperature should not exceed 16 degrees.

Plant care does not require any special costs. Weeds should be carefully weeded, applying organic fertilizers monthly. The condition of the soil is important - it should be crumbly, without excess moisture and excessive drying out.
