This is an easy and original recipe for chicken with vegetables. Cashew nuts add a zest to the flavor, while orange juice sauce gives the roast a delicious aroma.
It is necessary
- - 500 grams of chicken fillet;
- - 400 grams of broccoli - fresh or frozen;
- - 1 large onion;
- - 1 sweet red pepper;
- - 100 grams of cashew nuts;
- - 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
- - salt, ground black pepper to taste.
- For the sauce:
- - 1 orange;
- - 1 tablespoon of soy sauce;
- - 2 teaspoons of lemon juice or table vinegar;
- - 1 teaspoon of sugar (can be replaced with honey);
- - 2 teaspoons of flour.
Instructions
Step 1
Rinse the chicken, dry it, cut into small pieces. Cut the onion into small cubes, and the sweet red peppers into large ones. Divide the fresh head of broccoli into small florets (frozen broccoli does not require any preparation).
Step 2
Pour oil into a skillet, heat slightly, add cashews and fry until golden brown. Using a slotted spoon, transfer the nuts to a paper towel to absorb the grease.
Step 3
Fry the chicken in the same pan over high heat, add the onion after 3 minutes, and after another 5 minutes add pepper and broccoli. Stir mixture, reduce heat and cook, stirring occasionally, for about 10 minutes.
Step 4
Prepare the sauce: squeeze orange juice, add soy sauce, lemon juice or vinegar, sugar or honey, salt, ground black pepper, flour. Mix everything very thoroughly and pour the chicken with vegetables with the resulting sauce. Simmer everything together for another 7-8 minutes, stirring occasionally. Sprinkle the toasted cashew nuts on the finished dish.
