It happens that even fresh meat does not smell very pleasant. This happens for several reasons. For example, meat from puberty males often has an unpleasant odor. Or the animal could be treated with some odorous medications. Meat can also acquire "odor" under the influence of food additives in livestock feed. These odors can intensify during cooking and spoil the finished meal. If you are confident in the quality of the meat and are planning to cook it, then try to eliminate the unpleasant aroma with the help of improvised means.

It is necessary

  • - salt;
  • - potassium permanganate;
  • - table vinegar or citric acid;
  • - sugar;
  • - water;
  • - a bouquet of aromatic spices;
  • - onions or garlic;
  • - baking soda;
  • - charcoal or activated carbon;
  • - salt pepper;
  • - mustard;
  • - a decoction of chamomile.

Instructions

Step 1

Rinse the meat with a strong saline solution. It is prepared at the rate of about 100 g of salt per 1 liter of water.

Step 2

Soak the meat for 2 hours in a weak solution of ordinary potassium permanganate (slightly pinkish).

Step 3

Place the meat in acidified water for 20-30 minutes. You can use table vinegar or citric acid.

Step 4

Use aromatic spices when cooking - rosemary, thyme, coriander, basil. Chopped onions or crushed garlic will perfectly hide the smell.

Step 5

Marinate the meat with a softening marinade (sour).

Step 6

Boil the meat for 20 minutes, first in water alone, transfer to fresh water and continue cooking.

Step 7

Rinse the meat with a baking soda solution. Then place in a weak acidic solution for 5 minutes.

Step 8

When cooking, add a couple of pieces of charcoal (which is sold in stores) or 2 tablets of activated charcoal from a home medicine cabinet to the container. If you cook meat in a different way (fry or stew), then chop it, put it in a saucepan and add charcoal. Cover with cold water and leave for 2-3 hours. Then you can cook without fear of foreign smell.

Step 9

Rub a piece of meat on all sides with salt and pepper, let it rest for 1 hour. You can also use mustard instead.

Step 10

Dip cuts of meat in granulated sugar. Then sprinkle generously with salt. Leave it on for 30 minutes. Rinse thoroughly before cooking.

Step 11

Prepare chamomile broth, add some sugar, refrigerate. Soak the meat in it for 20 minutes. Rinse with salt water.
