Vodka is one of the most frequently counterfeited drinks. Its cost is low, and the demand is great - that is why counterfeits regularly appear on the shelves. Take a little time before buying and make sure you are getting the original.
Instructions
Step 1
Try to buy vodka only in large stores - there the risk of buying a fake is much lower. Naturally, the outlet must have a certificate for the sale of alcohol - if necessary, you can check its availability.
Step 2
Examine the rows of vodka bottles. The container, closed with a screw cap, must be filled up to the middle of the neck, with a "cap" - just below the hangers. The bottles of the same brand standing next to each other should have the same level of vodka. Floating level is a sure sign of manual filling.
Step 3
Take the bottle in your hands. The branded container should not have glue and dirt streaks, chips and cracks. Check the quality of the twist of the plug. A screw cap screwed in an industrial environment does not turn, the safety ring on it forms one piece with the plug. Turn the bottle over - no liquid should ooze out of it.
Step 4
Rate the quality of the drink. Shake the bottle and watch it through the light. Good vodka is absolutely transparent, does not have an unnatural yellowish or pinkish tint. It should be free of debris, villi, turbidity, sediment and foreign inclusions.
Step 5
Check the label and counter-label. They must be printed clearly, contain the same information, and not have grammatical errors. Check the quality of their attachment. Factory labels are glued evenly, the glue is applied neatly, in even thin stripes. Skewed, roughly glued labels are a sure indicator of handicraft products.
Step 6
Read the information on the label carefully. The name of the vodka, the name of the manufacturer and its address, the mark of the certificate of conformity, the date of bottling, the number of the license and the certificate of conformity, and the strength of the drink must be printed on it.
Step 7
You can evaluate the taste of vodka only after purchasing it. However, it is by them that it is easiest to identify a fake. Open the bottle and taste the vodka without cooling it. The pungent smell of technical alcohol, foreign taste will let you know that this drink should not be consumed. Take the bottle back to the store with your receipt. Usually, the buyer is refunded without any problems for a low-quality product.
