Surely each of us has tried carbonated water and, most likely, knows its taste since childhood. Such drinks are relatively inexpensive, but it is even cheaper and more interesting to make soda water yourself. Of course, this can be done in some models of coolers equipped with a carbonator. However, there is another device for carbonating water that has become popular again - the siphon.

Step 1
The first thing that is recommended to pay attention to is the safety and convenience of the device. With the return of siphons to fashion, it was noticed that the variety of models has increased, but the most economical models are still similar to Soviet siphons. They differ only in their fashionable design and high-quality stainless steel case.
Step 2
The principle of operation has not changed: water is poured into the cylinder, after which a small canister with compressed gas is inserted into a specialized pocket and screwed in. This is how the automatic saturation of water with bubbles is achieved by piercing the siphon membrane. Then the handle is just pressed, and sparkling water is poured from the siphon into the glass.
Step 3
Of the inconveniences of the siphon, one can immediately note only a small volume of a can of compressed gas, since it is enough in most models only for a liter of water. When replacing such a cartridge, you must be extremely careful and consistent, because if you suddenly unscrew and release the pressure, the device can explode.
Step 4
It is imperative to pour water into the siphon cylinder with a strictly specified amount so that there is room for the gas itself. The newest models of siphons have a completely different design with a gas cylinder for 60 liters of water.
Step 5
The soda bottle that comes with the siphon comes in a variety of materials. Usually, depending on the model, they are glass or plastic. But their number in the set plays an important role: the more bottles for soda, the more drink for the company. Additionally, models with an adjustable tilt level for the convenience of screwing in a cartridge and a special drip tray may also be of interest. All this will only make it easier to use the siphon.
