Rice is often used for stuffing various dishes, usually in combination with other ingredients. In order for the minced meat to get the right consistency, you need to cook rice for it correctly.

It is necessary

    • rice groats;
    • water in a ratio of 2: 1 (2 cups of water to 1 cup of rice cereal);
    • salt;
    • pan;
    • colander;
    • gas or electric stove.

Instructions

Step 1

From the recipe for the dish you want to cook, find out how much rice you need. The recipe can indicate either the amount of cereal or the amount of cooked rice. In the latter case, divide the volume (weight) by 3 and get a recalculation for cereals. For example, from one glass of cereal, three glasses of the finished product are obtained, from 100 g - 300 g of boiled rice.

Step 2

Take the required amount of cereal and rinse thoroughly.

Step 3

Pour water into a saucepan, put cereals in it, put on fire and bring to a boil. Rice, which is prepared for stuffing, does not need to be salted during cooking.

Step 4

After boiling water in a saucepan, reduce the heat on the gas burner or the heat on the electric stove to a minimum and continue to cook for another 15 minutes.

Step 5

If the cooked rice is surrounded by a sticky mass, which happens when the rice cereal is not rinsed enough before cooking, discard it in a colander and rinse it under running water.

Step 6

Some recipes for dishes stuffed with rice involve further cooking, during which it continues to boil. For this reason, according to such recipes, rice must be boiled until half cooked, within 8-9 minutes after boiling water in a saucepan.

Step 7

Mix rice with other foods in the required proportions, according to the recipe. Salt the resulting minced meat.
