If there are a lot of small potatoes left in the cellar, and there is nowhere to put them, you can make very tasty potato pies. These pies can be made with any filling: meat, eggs, mushrooms and much more.
Ingredients for the dough:
- Medium potatoes - 0.5 kg;
- Egg - 2 pcs;
- Flour - about ½ cup;
- Salt to taste.
Ingredients for the filling:
- Minced meat - 300 g;
- Onion - 1 pc;
- Garlic - 3 cloves;
- Dill - half a bunch;
- Pepper;
- Salt;
- Sunflower oil.
Preparation:
- Rinse the potatoes in running water from dirt with a soft brush and boil in their uniform. When the potatoes are cooked, pour cold water over them to cool down faster. Peel cooled potatoes. Twist the prepared potatoes in a meat grinder.
- Add eggs to the resulting puree and salt. You can add soda to the dough on the tip of a knife, this gives the effect of some airiness, but you can do without soda. Mix everything well and start adding flour. When the dough turns into a homogeneous mass and stops sticking to your hands, there is enough flour.
- Peel the onion and cut it into very small cubes, you can chop it in a blender, then the minced meat will be much juicier. Peel and chop the garlic with the help of a garlic spade. Add vegetables to the minced meat, pepper, salt to taste and mix well.
- Cut a small piece from the dough and knead it with your hands into a cake. Place the minced meat in the middle of the flatbread and form a pie. Put the potato pies doused in flour in a frying pan preheated with butter and fry until tender over medium heat, browning them.
- These pies can be served hot or cold. They can also work as a main course when served with a fresh vegetable salad, a spicy Korean salad, or simply boiled green beans.
