    • plastic containers;
    • colander;
    • towel;
    • knife;
    • freezer.

Instructions

Step 1

Buy cherries or harvest them from your lot.

Step 2

Go through the collected berries. Cherries must be ripe for freezing. Remove any damaged, rotten or overripe berries. Remove all debris and stalks.

Step 3

Place the berries in a large saucepan and cover them completely with cold water. Wash the berries by rubbing them gently with your hands.

Step 4

Lift the cherries out of the water with your hands and transfer them to a colander. In this case, all the dirt washed off the cherries and settled to the bottom will remain in the pan. Allow the water remaining on the berries to drain.

Step 5

Spread the cherries in one layer on a clean terrycloth towel. Wait until the berries are completely dry.

Step 6

Place the cherries in a plastic container. Please note that re-freezing of berries is unacceptable. Freeze them in portions that you can consume at one time in winter.

Step 7

If pitted cherries are required, remove them from the washed and dried berries using a knife or special tool. Place the pitted cherries in containers.

Step 8

Close the container with a lid and place in the freezer at a temperature from minus 18 to minus 25 degrees.

Step 9

Freezing of berries in bulk is possible. To do this, sprinkle clean dry berries in a special tray, leaving a distance of 0.5 cm between them. Put the tray in the freezer and turn it on at maximum power. Leave the berries to freeze for 3-4 hours. After that, pour the berries into a bag or container and put them in the freezer for storage.

Step 10

Pitted cherries can be frozen by sprinkling with granulated sugar (put in a container in layers).
