Cherry is far from the last place in modern cooking. With it you can make milk soup, cream, dumplings, sauces, compotes and many other dishes. Cherries are also used as a dietary product that improves digestion and quenches thirst. It has an expectorant, antiseptic and mild laxative effect. How to prepare it for the winter in order to preserve all the useful properties as much as possible? The best solution is freezing.

Instructions
Step 1
Buy cherries or harvest them from your lot.
Step 2
Go through the collected berries. Cherries must be ripe for freezing. Remove any damaged, rotten or overripe berries. Remove all debris and stalks.
Step 3
Place the berries in a large saucepan and cover them completely with cold water. Wash the berries by rubbing them gently with your hands.
Step 4
Lift the cherries out of the water with your hands and transfer them to a colander. In this case, all the dirt washed off the cherries and settled to the bottom will remain in the pan. Allow the water remaining on the berries to drain.
Step 5
Spread the cherries in one layer on a clean terrycloth towel. Wait until the berries are completely dry.
Step 6
Place the cherries in a plastic container. Please note that re-freezing of berries is unacceptable. Freeze them in portions that you can consume at one time in winter.
Step 7
If pitted cherries are required, remove them from the washed and dried berries using a knife or special tool. Place the pitted cherries in containers.
Step 8
Close the container with a lid and place in the freezer at a temperature from minus 18 to minus 25 degrees.
Step 9
Freezing of berries in bulk is possible. To do this, sprinkle clean dry berries in a special tray, leaving a distance of 0.5 cm between them. Put the tray in the freezer and turn it on at maximum power. Leave the berries to freeze for 3-4 hours. After that, pour the berries into a bag or container and put them in the freezer for storage.

Pitted cherries can be frozen by sprinkling with granulated sugar (put in a container in layers).
