It is necessary

  • - fresh cherries;
  • - plastic containers;
  • - freezer;
  • - a special device for removing bones.

Instructions

Step 1

After going over the berry, rinse it in running water, pour it into a colander or dry it with a clean towel or table napkins. Since cherries are meant to be frozen, all the water must drain from them. Otherwise, the berry will freeze into a single ice lump.

Step 2

After thawing, frozen cherries become very soft. Taking out the seeds from it, you can get a shapeless berry of an unappetizing look instead of a neat fruit. It is best to freeze the pitted cherries. You can remove them with a regular hairpin. However, such a procedure will take a long time, especially if you need to prepare several kilograms of cherries. To speed up the process, use a special device designed to remove the bones. Such machines allow you to peel cherries from the pits with a light touch. You must first cut off the cuttings from the berries.

Step 3

After the seeds have been removed, put the cherries back in a colander so that all the juice can drain from it. Wait about half an hour if you don't want the cherries to stick together during freezing. Now all that remains is to put the berries in plastic containers. Pour cherries into containers, close them tightly with lids and put them in the freezer.

Step 4

If you cannot buy small plastic containers, use a large container. In this case, the cherries are sprinkled in a layer of one berry on a baking sheet and placed in freeze. The frozen cherries are transferred to a prepared container and placed in the freezer so that they do not thaw. Meanwhile, a new portion of berries is placed on a baking sheet and again sent to freeze.

Step 5

Of course, this method of freezing seems to be quite long. However, the cherry will not be frozen, and for cooking it will be possible to take the required amount of berries without defrosting everything. Keep in mind that frozen berries can easily absorb odors. Therefore, cherry containers should be kept tightly closed. Place each one in a plastic bag for safety.
