So sometimes I want to cook something simple, quick and, most importantly, tasty. One of the tastiest and easiest pastries is shortbread cookies, which can be baked either on a baking sheet in the oven or in a pan. The secret of cooking is very simple, and in order for the cookies to be crumbly and tasty, you should apply some tricks.

Even an inexperienced housewife can make regular homemade cookies. It is better to cook it in a dry frying pan, it should be with a non-stick coating.

Shortbread cookies differ from ordinary cookies in that they turn out to be quite crumbly and do not require a large number of ingredients for cooking.

You will need:

- 1, 5-2 glasses of already sifted premium wheat flour;

- 1 teaspoon baking powder or half a teaspoon of baking soda;

- 1/3 cup sugar;

- 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil;

- egg yolk;

- 1/3 cup sour cream 20% fat;

- nuts, raisins or candied fruits to taste.

Cooking method

1. In a deep bowl, mix the flour and baking powder, you can use baking soda instead of the second.

2. In a separate bowl you need to prepare vegetable oil, sour cream, egg yolk, sugar and mix everything well, preferably with a mixer. The sugar should be completely dissolved.

3. Add flour, stirring constantly. The dough should not stick to your hands. You can also add nuts, candied fruits, honey or vanilla sugar to taste. Before frying, cover the dough with foil and put in for 20 minutes.

4. Put the chilled dough on a board sprinkled with flour in advance and roll out the "sausage", then cut it into 2 cm wide rings, preferably crush each piece a little.

5. For frying, take a clean pan, it must be dry. There is no need to pour oil, since it is already included in the dough, so it is not required for frying. Arrange the cookies and bake on both sides until golden brown. 3 minutes will be enough for each side. The fire should be reduced to a minimum.

After cooking, the cookies can be sprinkled with powdered sugar, grated chocolate, or garnished with whipped egg whites on top. Classic shortbread cookies are made without various additives such as nuts and candied fruits, so you can do without them. But most often, such baked goods are prepared with chocolate or coconut flakes.

Secrets in making shortbread cookies

The preparation itself is not difficult, but the quality of the food affects how crumbly the cookies turn out to be. It is recommended to mix the products quickly, and the dough must be left in a cold place before baking. It will also be good to grease the cookies with an egg or milk before baking.

The butter must be part of the dough, otherwise the cookies will turn out tough and may burn. The more oil the better. Egg white is not put into such a dough, only the yolk itself, otherwise the dough will not turn out crumbly. Instead of sugar, you can put powdered sugar.

You can not cut the dough into separate pieces, but bake it with a whole crust and only then cut it.
