Cooking in clay pots reminds us of a long tradition. Food used to be cooked in an oven, in cast iron or pots. This method of cooking was very common precisely because it was important not only to save the hostess's time, but also to preserve nutrients to the maximum. And so it turned out, because the products in pots were cooked practically without the attention of the cook, over low heat and languished in their own juice.
It is necessary
-
- Pots or pot;
- cold water;
- ribs;
- vegetable oil;
- onion;
- potatoes;
- spice;
- salt.
Instructions
Step 1
If you have just bought new clay pots, then you need to process them before cooking. Fill them with cold water and place in the oven. Do not preheat the oven in advance, the pots may burst from temperature extremes.
Step 2
However, this treatment does not change the soaking of the pots before each cooking. This must be done so that the pores of the clay absorb water, and then, when heated, "give" it to the products, so that the dish will be much juicier. So, soak the pots in cold water for 15 minutes and then start laying out the food.
Step 3
The amount of food depends on the volume of the pot. You can cook the dish in one large pot, or you can cook in several portions of your choice. If your family has special preferences for food, then it will be easier for you to cook in portion pots, laying out spices and ingredients based on your wishes. If your family has the same eating habits, one large pot is fine.
Step 4
Ribs Potatoes This recipe comes in two versions. If you have no contraindications to fatty foods, then fry all the ingredients in vegetable oil in turn, and then put them in a pot. If you are on a special diet, place just chopped ribs, peeled potatoes and finely chopped onions in the pot.
Step 5
Then add spices, salt to taste and add water. Adjust the amount of added water based on what kind of dish you want to get. If stewed potatoes, then pour less than half a pot of water. If you want a thick soup, add more than half. But in any case, do not pour water to the top of the pot - it will splash out during cooking.
Step 6
Then put the pots in the oven and cook for at least an hour at 170-200 degrees, then reduce to 170-150 degrees and bring the dish to readiness. Focus on the smell, and if in doubt, take out the pot and check the readiness of the product.
