Sesame (or, in other words, sesame) is an oilseed crop, its seeds are widely used in cooking. Sesame acquires its characteristic aroma and taste during the roasting process.
Instructions
Step 1
If you purchased sesame seeds in a shell, then first you need to exfoliate it. To do this, take the seeds in small handfuls, rub between your palms and transfer them to a separate bowl.
Step 2
Rinse the seeds in running water, after pouring it into a sieve.
Step 3
Pour the peeled and washed sesame seeds into a dry skillet.
Step 4
Roast the seeds over moderate heat until they bounce. Stir them with a wooden spatula during frying to prevent them from burning.
Step 5
Add fried sesame seeds to salad, baked goods (cookies, buns, pies), vegetable dishes; make a breading for meat or fish; prepare the sauce. Choose dark sesame seeds if you want to add flavor to cooked dishes. Use white sesame seeds to decorate baked goods and bread.
Step 6
Sesame seeds contain the powerful antioxidant sesamin. Eat sesame seeds to lower blood cholesterol and prevent cancer.
Increase the amount of sesame seeds you eat if you want to strengthen your bones: in terms of calcium content, sesame seeds are not inferior to products such as milk or hard cheese. If your body lacks calcium (a sign of this may be that you are constantly drawn to sweets), soak sesame seeds in a glass of water and drink this drink (also called sesame milk) once a day.
Include more sesame seeds in your diet to cleanse the body and remove harmful substances from it.
Eat sesame seeds to stay young, thanks to the vitamin E contained in the seeds.
Step 7
Cool seeds that you do not use immediately after frying at room temperature and place in a bowl with a tight lid. Store them in a dry, dark place.
