Perga is a pollen collected by bees, placed in honeycomb cells, poured with honey and sealed with wax. Perga is widely used for medicinal purposes, because it is a unique supplement to the human diet, containing a lot of amino acids, proteins, fats, vitamins and other micro- and macroelements. The bee bread obtained from forest or meadow herbs is especially valuable. Beekeepers use various methods of collecting and storing it.

Step 1
The first method is the simplest and fastest. You just need to remove the frame with bee bread from the hive, place it in the refrigerator and use the bee bread together with wax as needed. It should be noted that in this form, the bee bread is not stored for long.
Step 2
Method two - remove the frame from the hive. Then, with a heated knife, cut off the honeycomb from all sides to the base of the frame. For these purposes, beekeepers use a special beekeeping knife. Next, you need to thoroughly knead the honeycomb with your hands and place them in a saucepan with cold water. After a while, the wax will float up, and the beech granules will settle to the bottom of the pan. Then the water should be drained, and the bee bread should be scattered in a thin layer and dried for one or two days.
Step 3
Method three. The cut honeycombs should be cut into small pieces two to three centimeters in size and grind several times through a meat grinder. The resulting minced meat must be mixed with honey. The proportions of the ingredients in the mixture may vary. Usually it contains from twenty to fifty percent bee bread. Then let the mixture sit for a few days. During this time, particles of wax will float upward, which should be removed. The resulting product will include bee bread, honey, propolis and some wax. In a tightly closed jar, the mixture can be stored for about two and a half years.
Step 4
On large beekeeping farms, the following methods of collecting bee bread can be used. Beech honeycombs are dried or frozen. They can also be scarified, that is, scratched in such a way that the cells with the bee bread are opened. They are also crushed, and then the wax is separated by a blow. The resulting bee bread granules somewhat resemble polyhedrons, that is, they seem to repeat the shape of their cells. Slightly dried bee bread is packaged and sold or sent for further processing.
