The benefits of fermented milk products are undeniable. Dairy factories produce a lot of all kinds of curds, yoghurts, kefirs, yogurt, which are in great demand. But many people do not even realize that the simple milk whey that is obtained in the process of their preparation is much healthier and surpasses some of these products in terms of the vitamin composition.
Useful properties of whey
Whey contains a lot of milk protein and lecithin. It includes about 200 names of vitamins C, A, E, B, PP, nutrients, biologically active substances necessary for a person. And, of course, the necessary trace elements, including calcium, magnesium, potassium, zinc, phosphorus.
The beneficial properties of whey do not depend on where it is prepared - in a dairy or at home. The most useful product is whey from fresh milk, directly from a goat or a cow, but when it is not available, ordinary pasteurized milk is perfect.
How to make whey at home
Take fresh milk, pour it into a saucepan or large bowl, put it in a warm place for a day so that it sour and becomes sour milk. Then put a saucepan of liquid over low heat and bring to a boil.
Do not let the sour milk boil, otherwise the curd will not work.
Remove the pan from the heat as soon as curd flakes appear on the surface. Cool the liquid thoroughly. Take cheesecloth folded in four layers and strain the cooled mass. The cheesecloth will remain in the gauze, and the milk whey will drain into the prepared container.
There is another way to prepare whey quickly. Take one lemon, squeeze the juice out of it. Put one liter of milk to boil. As soon as it starts to boil, pour lemon juice into it, mix everything very quickly and immediately remove from the stove. Just as in the first method, separate the curd from the liquid.
Whey prepared in this way has an additional supply of vitamin C.
Cosmetic properties of whey
Cosmetologists have long been using serum for the preparation of various creams, shampoos, balms, hair masks. In folk cosmetology, recipes with serum are also used very actively, and the result is not long in coming.
To nourish the skin of the face and neck, wipe it daily with a cotton pad moistened with warm serum. To lighten freckled skin, mix fat cottage cheese (10-15%) and serum in a 1 to 1 ratio. You need to make such a compress every other day 10 times. Regular use of such whitening allows you to achieve good results.
Use of milk serum for hair is useful - they become silky, their volume increases. For scalp diseases such as seborrhea, weakening of the root system, treatment with whey brings good results. Make a mask: take fresh whey, add a decoction of burdock root and grated onions to it. Rinse your hair with this composition, put a warm cap on your head and leave it for 30 minutes to warm up.
