Easter week begins and most Orthodox Christians will paint eggs for the festive table. Of course, you can buy a lot of various industrial dyes in stores, but eggs painted with onion peels, vegetables and spices are considered harmless and amaze with an abundance of colors.
Put the onion peel in a saucepan, pour it over with hot water, bring to a boil and leave to simmer for about an hour. After which the solution is cooled, add 1-2 tablespoons of table salt, spread the eggs and boil.
To get eggs of various colors, from orange to burgundy, it is necessary to remove them from the pan with onion peels in batches, that is, the longer the egg is in the broth, the more intense the color.
Hibiscus leaf tea is poured with boiling water, boiled for 10 minutes, cooled, and then boiled chicken eggs in the resulting broth. When the eggs are ready, the stove is turned off and the product is left in the broth for a while for the color intensity.
With the help of hibiscus, the eggs are painted pink and red.
Fresh herbs, for example, parsley and dill, are boiled for half an hour, after which hard-boiled eggs are placed in the broth. Depending on the time spent in the solution, the testicles turn out from a pale green to green hue.
To color the eggs with coffee, you need to brew a strong drink, cool it, put the eggs and boil for 10-15 minutes. To make the color brighter and more saturated, you can leave the eggs inside the pan for another half hour or hour. Staining in this way helps to get the testicles golden to brown.
Despite the fact that the cabbage is red, the eggs are deep blue. To prepare the broth, chop the cabbage, pour boiled water, add two tablespoons of 9 percent vinegar and leave to infuse. When the liquid acquires the desired shade, immerse the pre-cooked eggs in it.
Eggs painted in any way can also be made elegant and original. To do this, before immersing the egg in the solution, you need to stick or attach leaves of greenery or plants, wrap the egg in gauze or nylon stocking, and only then put it in a saucepan.
The colored eggs are laid out on a napkin, allowed to cool and dry, after which they are smeared with sunflower oil to give the testicle a gloss.
