Porridge is a traditional dish on our table. However, the proportions for the preparation of cereals are different. To make the porridge really tasty, you should use the right amount of water or milk.
Porridge is the healthiest dish, as cereals contain many useful substances. To make the dish tasty, you should adhere to certain proportions during preparation.
Buckwheat porridge. The proportion is 1: 2. That is, to prepare 1 glass of cereal, you will need 2 glasses of water. However, if you like boiled porridge, you can add a little more liquid.
Fig. For a side dish of rice or when boiling rice for salad, stick to a 1: 3 ratio. This will make the cereal crumbly and not sticky. It is recommended to fry the rice a little in butter before pouring it with water.
For cooking rice porridge, a ratio of 1: 4 is suitable. The dish will taste better if the water is diluted or completely replaced with milk.
Millet. For lovers of liquid or well-boiled porridge, a 1: 4 ratio is suitable. If you do not need to cook millet porridge, but cook crumbly cereal, we suggest taking 3 parts of water for 1 part of the cereal.
Oatmeal. Hercules porridge is traditionally prepared on the basis of a 1: 3 ratio. For lovers of a thinner dish, a ratio of 1: 4 is suitable.
Spelled. The undeservedly forgotten spelled porridge is prepared in a 1: 2 ratio. The groats are not boiled, and the dish can serve as an excellent side dish.
