Buying food is becoming a real problem, as their quality is increasingly questionable. There are several factors that can help you avoid a bad purchase.
Instructions
Step 1
Shelf life. Always look for these numbers on the packaging. It often happens that they are not written, but there is data on the release date and storage time, from which it can also be concluded about the freshness of the product. If you notice that the numbers are interrupted or are missing altogether, then it is better to refuse to buy such a product.
Step 2
Appearance. Inspect the product carefully if packed in a transparent box. Darkening, mold, mucus indicate that the product is spoiled.
Step 3
Integrity of the packaging. The conditions for storing goods are often violated by the suppliers themselves. If the packaging is broken, chipped and torn, this means that the product may be spoiled due to the penetration of air or bacteria inside.
Step 4
Manufacturing plant. The name says a lot, so try to choose those brands that have been on the market for a long time and have managed to win your trust.
Step 5
The amount of ice. When purchasing frozen food, always pay attention to how much ice has formed inside. If behind its layer you can barely see, for example, shrimp or dumplings, this means that the product has already stale in the refrigerator of the store or was stored incorrectly (it was defrosted and re-frozen, which is prohibited).
Step 6
When choosing meat, press down on it with your finger. If it is elastic and after pressing it returns to its place, then it is fresh and can be eaten without fear. A loose consistency indicates a stale product on the counter.
